Lots of exciting things going on around here.

First and foremost, have officially begun process of applying for reinstatement at the university. Have two staff members who will probably be writing me recommendations, plus the therapist, and I just have two small essays to write and then I can submit the app online and wait. *crosses fingers* I'm hoping to send in the application by Wednesday, and then it takes 4-6 weeks for a decision (since it goes up in front of a Faculty Review Board). Wish me luck!

In other news, we've finally gotten rid of the dozen or so bags of toys sitting in the hallway, only to have them replaced by my brother's furniture. We got him a whole bunch of new stuff (desk and chair, dresser, extra bookshelf) from Ikea last weekend, and had them ship most of it home for us. We took the desk and chair home last Saturday and the guys put it together the next day, and the rest of it (plus a new bookshelf for me) showed up today. Dad's putting it all together with a little help from me, and when he's done the hallway might actually be navigable again. *shock and awe*

Had a "meeting" after work yesterday. Basically, we closed the store early and everyone came in and they told us why we were wrong for an hour. Generally, I don't mind, but when a few of us brought up the fact that some of the shift managers tend to yell, we got yelled at (note: we didn't name names or anything, but the guilty parties protested the loudest). Thankfully, the new assistant manager was on our side, so maybe some things will start changing. Hope springs eternal and all.

In related news, my manager said she's going to schedule me for the coffee master training. Now, she thinks I should be doing the whole process in two hours and then doing a coffee tasting, but I think she's out of her mind. There's no way I can memorise all the coffees (upwards of 20), what they taste like, and what they taste good with, plus the technology of it, the details of how coffee is made, etc. in two hours. Is she trying to sabotage me, or am I just paranoid?

Ok, meme-ness, and then I'm off to balance my checkbook for the first time in *thinks* at least a year. *facepalm* On the up side, once I do that and show my my suggested method of dividing up paychecks, I should be able to start ordering con tickets! Will prolly post again later nattering about writing, and there should be Stargate Time! today, too.
