On Notice (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, NC-17) any season, no spoilers. "I want to try something, ok?"
Je Ne Regrette Rien (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, PG) future time, no spoilers. "After everything, do you regret that we opened the 'gate?"
Memory (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, G) coda to 8.06, spoilers for 2.04 and 8.06. "From Before or After?" Daniel asked tensely, and Jack could hear the capital letters.
Not (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, Daniel/Cam, R) s9-10, no spoilers. "Unless one of you has been lying to me, there's nothing fertile in that union."
Intimidation (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, PG) any season, no spoilers. "I didn't touch anything," Daniel chimes in quickly, reading Jack's mind as usual. "Not this time, at least."
Crossed Wires (SGA, Rodney/Carson, John/Rodney UST, G) any season, no spoilers. He didn't know why, but Sheppard seemed almost glum. Even his hair wasn't as energetic as usual.
Intimate (SG-1, Jack/Daniel, PG-13) any season, no spoilers. "I said we’d do this, I’m not backing out now."
Cassie's First Christmas (SG-1, implied Jack/Daniel, implied Sam/Janet, PG) s1, no spoilers. Cassie is learning that the Tau'ri are weird.
Helping Hand (SGA, John/Rodney, NC-17) any season, no spoilers. John didn’t think he took a real breath until they were back in Atlantis and Rodney was on his way to the infirmary. Maybe not even then.

Who do you have to thank?

starkravingsane, theemdash, and sorcha_gaia for beta-reading and hand-holding. theemdash for ego-stroking. theemdash and kashmir_ki_kali for research for Team Q. Everyone who prompted me and pushed me out of my comfort zone. Everyone who read my fic.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
No predictions, but I wrote way less than I usually do. I had an excuse, though.

Favorite story:
On Notice. I managed to achieve exactly what I wanted with this one.

My best story this year:
Definitely First Name Basis. And it's all because of theemdash. I had a cool idea and a bitching first line, and she made it work.

My worst story this year:
Making It Official was rushed and needed to be completely reworked. But Intimate completely failed to live up to the story in my head, so I'll go with that.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Helping Hand: shower handjob, H/C that just causes more hurt, miscommunication; what's not to like? Maybe I just didn't advertise it in the right places, but I still feel like no one read it.

Story I wrote that I never thought I'd write:
First Name Basis, again. Sam is my black dress, and I totally don't see the Daniel/Cam at all. But it just begged to be written.

Story that surprised you:
Not: it didn't start as a prequel to First Name Basis, I swear!

Story that was most assuredly inspired by insanity:
Intimidation. But starkravingsane was involved, so it's to be expected.

Hottest story:
I know First Name Basis was popular, but I like chair sex, so I'll go with It's Good to Be the General.

Most fun story to write:
Intimidation, which sprang fully-formed into my head. And the cheeseball dialogue from Team Q was hard, but fun.

Least fun stories to write:
Asgard Bearing Gifts. I had to make it actually work, and it stirred up all kinds of shit in the process that I still want to write about.

Most difficult story to write:
First Name Basis, since it was my first collaboration and the first time I'd ever written second person POV. Crossed Wires was hard, too, since I had to walk the fine line between making sure Rodney was clueless, and yet still making sure the reader knew what was going on.

Story you'd write differently now:
Intimate just would not work, so I slapped an ending on it and called it done. Lazy of me.

Favorite character to write:
Stargate: SG-1: Daniel is always easiest for me, but I liked getting a chance to write Cassie, and second-person!Cam was delightfully dirty.

Stargate Atlantis: For some reason, I find it easier to write Sheppard than I ever did O'Neill, though he's a pale imitation of the latter. *shrugs*

original: I love Jul, and teenage!Jul was amusing, but I'm going to have to go with Suriel. The gay angel in the Liszt band shirt hitting on the priest? I'm going to hell, but at least I'm going to have fun.

Top 3 Favorite Opening Lines:
Asgard Bearing Gifts: On Monday at 1415 hours, Dr. Daniel Jackson walked through the Stargate into the SGC with an infant in his arms. Almost exactly 24 hours later, Major General Jack O'Neill's two weeks' notice was on the President's desk and the man himself was on a plane to Colorado. Because Daniel alone with a baby? Just...no.
First Name Basis: You've been working with Daniel Jackson for over a year, and even lying in his bed, covered in sweat and semen, you still don't understand him.
Intimidation: Someday, Jack thinks, he's going to take the entire climate department out and shoot them.

Top 3 Favorite Closing Lines:
It's Good to Be the General: "Next time," Jack whispers, "I want you to fuck me over the desk."
First Name Basis: You want him to call your name.

You want to be the only other person in this bed.

You want to be able to call him Daniel.
Crossed Wires: "You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think you actually cared," Rodney said. He was surprised when the joke fell flat and Sheppard abruptly got up, grunting a goodbye. What the hell had that been about?

The Completely Self-Indulgent 15 Other Favorite Bits From This Year:
Making It Official: "So, you're an angel," Father Michael said again, and Jul rolled her eyes. "And I'm not crazy?"

"Not that I know of," the angel said brightly. He wasn't exactly what Jul had pictured: sure, he had curly blond hair and blue eyes, but he was wingless, short, and a little round. And he was wearing frayed jeans and a band t-shirt. Jul thought she saw the name "Lizst" buried in the curlicues, but she wasn't sure.
Making It Official: "Honey, you're going to be fighting demons and that kind of thing until you die," he said, hands on hips. "You're going to need all the help you can get."
Making It Official: "Tell you a secret?" Suriel said. "Jesus prefers beer." Jul laughed, and was pleased when Father Michaels joined her. "Be good, Juli," the angel said, hugging her. "And if you can't be good, at least do good, right?"
Team Q: "Can't they just...not be gay, dear?"
Asgard Bearing Gifts: "I think I understand now why my parents used to threaten to leave me on digs. It's a good thing you're cute,"
First Name Basis: Of course, you didn’t think you were the kind of guy who’d fall into bed with them as soon as Jackson looked at you that way . . . no, who do you think you’re fooling, you’ve always been that kind of guy.
First Name Basis: You'd wanted Daniel—built like a marine, but with soft lips and kind eyes; a good way to get court-martialed—but getting him was a surprise.
On Notice: "God, you're so hot like this," he says, running a hand over one of Jack's arms. "Tied down, at my mercy. And all for me." He traces the way Jack's muscles stand out in his tensed arms. "I'm going to fuck you like this," he says, low and husky. "Pull your legs apart and push into you and fuck you until you scream. And there's nothing you can do to stop me."
Je Ne Regrette Rien: "Remind me to shoot whoever decided it was a good idea to do the big reveal in December 2012," he said, leaning on the railing next to Jack and looking out over the snowy grounds. "If one more reporter asks me about the end of the Mayan calendar, I won't be held responsible for my actions."

"Oh, and I thought you, of all people, would think it was funny," Jack said, grinning when Daniel lightly shoved his shoulder. "I’m sure Teal'c would do the honors if you couldn't bear to shoot an old friend."
Not: "Unless one of you has been lying to me, there's nothing fertile in that union."
Intimidation: "I didn't touch anything," Daniel chimes in quickly, reading Jack's mind as usual. "Not this time, at least."
Crossed Wires: He didn't know why, but Sheppard seemed almost glum. Even his hair wasn't as energetic as usual.
Intimate: His world was narrowed down to movement: the slide of muscle under skin, a trickle of sweat down his spine, the faintest brush of air against his cheek from Daniel's breath when they pressed together for a moment and then separated.
Cassie's First Christmas: If she lets her eyes go out of focus, they look like stars.
Cassie's First Christmas: Teal'c's rumbling voice announces that he'll use DanielJackson's office to...something. She doesn't recognize the word, and when she asks Jack later, he tells her Teal'c has to check his eyelids for leaks; she doesn't believe him.

And for kicks, last year's.
