Wound up meeting N and her friend for UpWords after work on Friday, and seeing He's Just Not That Into You with Mum on Saturday. Surprisingly good movie, I have to admit, but horrifyingly hetero-centric. And the fact that the practically gay male character and the woman from the gay paper wind up together? Mum was saying that it was a comfort level thing (Mary was more comfortable with gay men than straight men), which I agree with, but she disagreed that Conor was practically a gay man. And the role of the gay men choruses (at the paper, the open house, and Alex's party)? Don't even get me started. Still, it was a much better film than I'd expected, and I really liked the ending. Plus, splitting mezza platters with Mum was fun.

Work on Sunday (four hours on bar during the morning rush, with Boss looking over my shoulder) went alright. Proved, at least to myself, that I can still do the job, which is nice. And I managed to get the drinks out faster than the gal on register could ring most of the time, so that's always nice.

Still having fights with the school about various Monologues things, but we won the fight to let us perform at Maryland Day. And the woman knew she was wrong, too, because she started the letter saying that they should have talked to us about content first. :D We're going to do up a draft of the Family FriendlyTM twenty minutes we're going to perform over the next two weeks, and we'll see how it goes.

Oh, I feel like they gave fair warning as to the heterocentrism right in the title! :-D

Oh, no, I knew it was coming. It was just that it was weird watching it with my mother.
