Year in Review Memes, 1 of 3

Happy New Year, everybody. I'm certainly not sad to see 2010 go.

I'll be meme-ing quite a bit. Sorry for spamming.

1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
wrote fic for charity, got a 4.0 in a college environment, made bread, wrote Kirk/Spock fanfiction, traumatised a classroom full of people :D, drug challenge! (not as cool as it sounds), wrote a novel, went to an enormous political rally

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Here were my resolutions from last year:
1. Read more. Yes.
2. Create and start a new 101 in 1001 list. Created, did not start.
3. Get driver's license. No.
4. Exercise more. No.
5. Get along better with Mom. Somewhat?
6. Finish cleaning/packing/trashing in bedroom and living room. Progress made, but not enough.
7. Spend less time on the computer and more time with real people. Yes!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?

5. What countries did you visit?

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
sanity, enrollment in a four-year college, my own residence, a love life

7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
14 Jul - Kriegsspiel posted
30 Oct - Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Maintained my 4.0 (so far...). Finished the Kriegsspiel.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Ah, so many things. Fucking up the job at Seattle's Best. Fucking up the spring semester. Almost fucking up the fall semester. *sigh*

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Oh, just the usual stuff. *headdesk*

11. What was the best thing you bought?
my Dragon*Con pass, my assorted Vala costumes

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
theemdash, mckays_lab, wiccanslyr, Cali, Ed, allandaros

13. Whose behavior made you appalled?
Jen B-D and Jamie P, though I refuse to let them ruin Dragon*Con for me

14. Where did most of your money go?
school, Dragon*Con (tickets, hotel, costumes)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2010?
"Unwritten" - Natasha Bedingfield

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder? About the same; there were some really great points, but I also had some pretty awful mood dips, too.
ii. Richer or poorer? Poorer, since just about every cent I have to my name is allocated at the moment.
iii. Thinner or fatter closer to a healthy weight? I am officially my ideal weight. Now to maintain that by exercising and eating healthier.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
socializing, working, exercising

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
I may have done, yes. *blushes*

Good grades, finally, and I earned those motherfuckers.

28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Sherlock Holmes or maybe The Princess and the Frog

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Nothing in particular. I believe I laid around the house all day, and then the parentals took me out to dinner.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not being crazy. Is it really so much to ask?

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
geek goddess

32. What kept you sane?
Sheer cussedness and a fistful of meds.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Benedict Cumberbatch

34. What political issue stirred you the most?
Happily, I was just sane enough this year that I could gripe about politics. Particularly vexing were healthcare reform, DADT repeal, and the midterm elections.

35. Who did you miss?
My sanity, my high school friends, my Dragon*Con friends. Can't win, yo.

37. Who was the best new person you met?

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010:
90% of success in life really is just showing up.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Reaching for something in the distance, so close you can almost taste it. - "Unwritten" - Natasha Bedingfield

And, for kicks, last year's answers.
